Yaya Dacosta Cast as Vanessa Williams' Daughter on Ugly Betty!
By Jamey Giddens on August 11, 2009

You gotta hand it to America's Top Model Cycle 3 runner-up Yaya Dacosta, she knows how to get herself cast as the daughters of iconic soap divas—whether it be on daytime or primetime. Dacosta, who ABC Daytime may fans remember as Dr. Angie Hubbard's (Debbi Morgan) adopted daughter Cassie on All My Children, has been tapped to recreate the role of Nico, Wilhelmina Slater's (Vanessa Williams) daughter for the upcoming season of Ugly Betty. According to EW.com's Michael Ausiello, Nico (previously played by Jowharah Jones) will turn up on the Oct. 9 season premiere. Thanks Appleridge for the tip!

Gosh if only we could get her to replace another top "model" on Y&R.
Congrats to Yaya! I didn't watch Ugly Betty last season but I plan to put it back on my DVR this year.

I was not a fan of Yaya when she was on AMC but I'm willing to give her a chance on Ugly Betty. I didn't think that anything was wrong with the previous actress though, wonder what happened?

I'm glad to hear she has found something better than the 'ick' that is AMC these days. They seem to have forgotten Cassie exists. Her brother has been to war and back, nearly had his hands blown off. He has gotten married, found out he was going to be a father (again...don't get me started on how they never mention his other kid), his wife lost the baby...and not once has anyone said, "maybe we should call Cass".
