Nathan Scott You Are Not The Father!

This season of One Tree Hill has been a roller coaster for Nathan Scott (James Lafferty), as our leading man finds himself in a contract year (hmm, a contract storyline on a show that just had some contract shakeups? Don't you love it when art imitates life?) and also in a 'baby daddy' scandal!

But now at long last, Nathan and Hayley (Bethany Joy Galeotti) can work through some of their issues, because on this week's episode Nathan learned, with the help of his father Dan Scott's ( Paul Johansson) talk show, that Renee (Kate French) is a liar and that he is not the father!

My initial reaction to this news was THANK GOD! Now we can move on and get back to some better storylines! But at the same time, I could not help but notice all the storyline flaws, and what little things could have been done to make this storyline so much better.

Some of these flaws cannot be fixed, like the absence of Lucas (Chad Michael Murray) and Payton (Hilarie Burton), but others can, such as how everyone is off in their own separate bubble. Why wasn't Brooke (Sophia Bush) over at the Scott's? Why wasn't Mouth (Lee Norris) there? And why was Nathan's manager Clay (Robert Buckly) too busy talking to a ghost to bother to come over?  If the show was written with more interaction and with more of a community feeling, I think this storyline would have been perfect. But because the execution was all over the place and everyone was just off on their ow I wasn't really a big fan of this storyline.

So now you know how I feel about the storyline. What did you think of it?

Clay's probably the baby daddy.

I actually enjoy this season so far. I'm happy about every episode I haven't to see Mouth, so wasn't complaining about him not being at the Scott's house. And to be honest, he and Nathan were never that close to be there in a family matter like that.
I kind of wished that Brooke would of been there, but I think that Nathan and Haley wanted to got through this alone. Sending Jamey away and just watching what happen was okay. It wasn't a situation for audience.

I think that interactions are missing at some point. But I think this season it's better than the season six. Part of it is that OTH always focuses too much on it's secondary characters like Mouth, new girl Alex (who isn't a main character), Mia and Chase. If you would stop there and just have the core characters there would be more interaction.

But I really was fine with this week's episode. The couple all had to face something and tried it separated from others, which was fine IMO.
I liked Clay's personal tragedy and I thought that Robert Buckley and the girl playing his dead wife made a pretty good job.

And to be really honest, I don't miss Chad and Hilarie that much. Without them it more feels like the show can breath again and isn't pointed in one direction like in season six, which was pretty boring for me.

So no complaining from me ... besides that it would be nice if Tree Hill residents would talk about Dan's new wife. That's really something that bothers me for weeks now. Tongue

I haven't watched this show in years so when I read the headline I thought you were talking about the boy he has with Hayley. I was about to lose it.

I have also enjoyed the show this season and understand why it is that the plot bubbles exist (exposition of all the new characters) but VERY much look forward to the exposition being out of the way and the groups to start clumping this coming episode.

With the boys camping and the girls enjoying pot brownie's I hope to see proof that this show doesn't need Peyton or Lucas to be a viable fun soapy show that has a ton of heart.

I came to this series on DVD years after it started and am so glad I did. An appealing cast, with good writing and great chemistry!

I used to watch or TIVO all the time. This season I watched 2 episodes and lost all interest. NO Lucas, No Peyton, No Deb, No Karen ----- Nothing makes sense to me at this point.
