Uh Oh, More Trouble For Soaps? Housewives To Air In Syndication Next Year


Need more proof networks are moving away from soaps? The New York Post reports that NBC has given the green light to air reruns of The Real Housewives brand in 2010. According to the article, the repeats of the shows will run in back to back episodes for viewers to catch up with their favorite "reality" show.

So far, NBC stations in LA, Chicago, Dallas, Hartford, Miami, Philadelphia, San Diego, San Francisco and Washington will broadcast the shows.

Currently, all of the shows are on Bravo, a subsidiary of NBC. In a press release, NBC local media president John Wallace said,

And by coming to broadcast television stations in daytime, this series will appeal to a new audience that is looking for something that stands out from the pack.

Get out of the way Carmella Soprano, The Real Housewives of New Jersey are taking over. The season finale of Bravo's The Real Housewives of New Jersey set "Housewives" franchise ratings records for the network, pulling in 3.5 million viewers.  The Live Feed is also reporting that "it was the higher rated than any show on cable or broadcast" that night.
